It’s Not a Book, It’s a Hat

Posted on March 17, 2011

Today the kindergartners were allowed to check out two books for the very first time.  They were so excited.  They did a great job finding just the right books and checking them out with me.  If you would like your child to have additional materials to read during the winter break, just stop by the library anytime and I’ll be glad to help you.

After checkout we read Leonid Gore’s new book, The Wonderful Book.  This hilarious picture book tells the story of a red book lost in the woods, and it’s subsequent adventures with a rabbit, bear, mouse family, and a very tired fox.

The students had a great time explaining to each animal that the red item in question was a book. The bear thought it was a hat, and had a wonderful time modeling for the students.
